8 months

Zada Mae is 8 months old. It might be the mother in me, but I swear she keeps getting cuter and cuter. She is crawling like a mad woman now. She will also pull herself up to the coffee table, couch, etc. and walk around them. She loves to walk while holding onto our hands.

Zada sleeps through the night, most of the time, but only takes two naps between 30 minutes, and an 1 1/2 hours.

She loves her big brother and has made it obvious to us that he is way funnier then anyone else.

She is a great eater, and has learned to love everything, but baby food peaches. She loves the canned peaches though. Zada has 2 bottom teeth, and I love that she has hair! We can put a little pony tail up on top.

We couldn't ask for a better baby. She is such a happy girl. We love her so much!

25 big ones

I turned 25 on Tuesday. Ted surprised me with flowers. Then he came home early with a present, Photoshop Elements! We spent the afternoon at the pool as a family. Later Ted took me out to dinner, thanks to the Thackers for babysitting! Ted has been super busy studying for the bar, so it was fun spending some much needed time with him. It was a wonderful birthday!

Bittersweet

We will be moving in less than 2 months, and enter the real world. (a.k.a we are no longer students.) Lately, I've been reminiscing about our time here in Northern Idaho. So here are some pictures from the last three years.

We welcomed Zada into our home, October 19, 2008.

Ted and Troy are really going to miss the college sports games they were able to go to up here.

When we first came up here, I remember meeting Lauren Brower, wife of a third year law student. I told her that they must be excited to move on. And she said, "Yes, but we've really enjoyed our time here in Moscow." And I thought REALLY? But now I can say that we've really enjoyed our time here in Moscow as well. We have made some great friends that have been our family away from home and we will miss them.

We've grown to love the Palouse. We are definitely a different family leaving Moscow then the family we were when we came. Troy has grown into a sweet, little, almost-three-year-old boy. Zada has been such a joy to have in our family. Ted has worked hard and accomplished a law school degree. I have finished a few projects and grown to love being a stay at home mom. Yes, we have made progress. We will miss this beautiful town that we have grown in.

Magnetic Quiet Book

I have been wanting to make a Quiet Book for years. I finally gave up on sewing one when I was pregnant with Zada. I'm not that great with the sewing machine, and I just don't have a lot of time to put into a project. I first saw this done by Wendy. When she moved I forgot about it (and I hope most of you did too because hers was really cute!) until I saw Jennifers on her blog The Craft Patch. I'm tired of hauling books, cars, and other toys to church for Troy. And now I only have to take ONE binder to church for him. We will see how it works this Sunday.

You put magnetic paint on the back of cardstock where you want your pieces to stick. Laminate it and your little pieces. Then put magnets on your little pieces. Pretty simple. I took my time and it still only took me a couple of weeks to finish. I got my ideas from Jennifer and Mormon Chic.

On this page they can sort the food from the clothes. I made a few envelope pockets throughout the book to hold the little pieces. (Again this is from Jennifer!) You laminate the pockets closed and exacto knife around them.

I also like the Magnetic Quiet book idea because I can keep adding to the book. Hopefully it pays off on Sunday!

Graduation!!!

On Friday Ted's parents, grandparents, brothers, and niece came up for Graduation. My mom and sister also came Friday afternoon. We enjoyed a BBQ Friday night. We also went to a park and the Farmers Market. The ceremony was Saturday. It was held in the Kibbie Dome and only an hour and a half. It was perfect. The speakers were good and the kids did great - napping for a good part of it. Afterwards we went to a Steakhouse for dinner and early Sunday morning everyone left. It was a short trip, but we are glad everyone came.

Updates

Zada has been crawling now for a week or so. She is increasing her speed and today she pulled herself up to the coffee table. It's so fun to watch them grow! So far she has found cereal and chips on my kitchen floor. Time to start sweeping - multiple times a day.

We didn't get Troy an allergy test. He hasn't had anymore problems. The doctor told us it was probably a tree nut allergy (Since he's never had any problems with peanuts.) and gave us an EpiPen to have on hand. However, he has had almonds since then and been fine. So maybe it wasn't the cashews? Don't know.
Ted graduates this Saturday. He finished his last final Tuesday morning and started studying for the bar Tuesday afternoon. I am already a single parent! Graduation post to come. . .
