So Close!

I know this is only exciting to a mother, but Zada is SOOO close to crawling! Troy was much more content once he started to move, and I think she will be too.

Look at her get her booty up there! I'm pretty sure this pose would hurt me.

A warning to future primary teachers. . .

We were dying eggs for Easter and I was trying to get Troy to show Daddy the primary song he learned that day. He liked Ted's version a lot better. Such a boy! Please ignore the messy house, and my solo!

6 months, already?!

Zada Mae is 6 months old! It really has gone by fast. I feel like I just brought her home from the hospital last month- okay not really, but the last 6 months have been a blur. She is 17 lbs. 9 oz. and 26 inches long. Zada is getting cuter and more fun everyday. She has been sitting up and rolling over for a month or so now. The other night she scooted herself across the living room over to the dinner table where we were eating.

Zada loves her bath, Troy, the nasty bark outside at the playground, and ME! She now crys when she sees me leave the room. But she gives me a big grin when she sees me! It makes my day and reminds me how great it is to be a mom.

Zada has eaten infant cereal, peas, carrots, and squash. She is not a big fan of the carrots, but everything else she enjoys. Zada is such a happy baby and is usually smiling. However, she does not share her laugh that often. And she has stopped drooling! Not completely, but I don't have to put on a nasty bib over her cute outfits anymore! We all love her very much and we can't remember what life was like without her.

Easter

Wednesday night we told Troy the Easter Story and dyed Easter eggs.

We had an Easter Egg hunt at the church Saturday morning.

Sunday morning Troy woke up to find his Easter basket and candy eggs that the Easter bunny had left him!

On the way to church Easter morning Troy was still talking about the Easter Bunny and I realized that I had got caught up in the commercialism of this holiday. I had a great time buying way too much candy, hiding eggs, and putting together the kids Easter Baskets. It was really fun, but I spent way more time on that then sharing our Saviors Resurrection with Troy! I can tell that next year I am going to have to do something different to help get the true meaning of Easter across to my kids.

A little trip to the ER

We had a little scare on Monday. About 11:00am I noticed that Troy had a rash all over his body. I gave him a bath, thinking that we might need to go to the doctor if it didn't get better. When I got him out of the tub and dressed, I noticed his ears were red and swollen to at least twice the size they normally were. I started panicking at this point and hurried to get both the kids in the car. Troy was very groggy and tired. His rash was getting worse too. I left a message on Teds phone as we drove to the doctor. I stupidly went to our doctors Quick Care clinic first and checked in. Ted met us there and thankfully asked how long the wait would be, 1 1/2 HOURS!

We quickly got in the car again and drove to the Emergency Room where they were able to see us right away. Troy's airway was clear the entire time and he had no trouble breathing. Thank Goodness! The doctor gave him benadryl, (Which I had at home. Why did I not think of that?) and a prescription for a steroid.

I think it might have been a reaction to some cashews I gave him, don't know for sure. He's always been fine with other nuts, like almonds and peanuts. We go see the doctor on Friday. I'm wondering if we should get him allergy tested. I don't know anything about this stuff, so if anybody has any advice, please comment! I had Ted check on Troy 3 times last night before we went to bed, and I checked on him once myself. I am a little paranoid!



These pictures were taken when we got home. He is looking lots better. You can't see his ears very well, but they were still swollen. He's been feeling fine since. In fact, I was checking him out yesterday, asking him questions, looking at his ears, and he told me to leave him alone. 'I feelin' good'

The old man is 28

Ted turned 28 on Tuesday. To celebrate he came home right after his morning class and we had a very yummy breakfast with crepes. Then we went bowling. I think it's been 4 years since I've been bowling, so there will be no mention of the scores. On our way home, we stopped and saw the grizzly bears at WSU. For dinner we ordered a pizza, then we had some friends over for cupcakes and ice cream. It was so fun having him spend the day with us!

Troy loved this. They had a great little ramp for him to push his bowling ball down. He did have a hard time waiting for his turn though.

Lovely weather we've been having. . . .

Last Sunday, Ted and Troy were able to make a giant snowman. Unfortunately for Ted and I, Troy still loves to go outside in a blizzard, and insists that it's 'nice outside.'
