Forget about filling Daddy's shoes, what about big brothers?

Zada is a girl, she loves shoes. . .already. She found Troy's boots today (which did not make Troy happy) and had fun playing with them. I thought she looked very stylish. :)

Blue and Gold

One of the perks about being closer to family has been the high school games we have been able to go to. We went to a couple of football playoff games to cheer on my brother. Sadly, we lost to Mackay last Friday. Bring on basketball!

Pumpkins, Mickey Mouse, and the Ladybug

We carved pumpkins for FHE monday night with Lance, Autumn, and Paisley. I think we have a new tradition in our house, but I can tell that Ted and I are going to have to pick it up a notch to equal the Lance Peck Family. They brought 3 pumpkins, carving tools, and patterns and carved 2 pumpkins. We carved one. Maybe next year Troy will care more about having his own. The kids liked it for the first 5 minutes then got distracted. We ended the evening with tired kids and sugar cookies.

This is the face she gives me when I pull out my camera now. Hilarious!
Tuesday night our ward had their trunk-or-treat. It was freezing! The kids were done before we even got all the way around the parking lot. But being the good parent I am, I made them get as much candy as possible :) Now we don't have to go out on Halloween unless it's good weather.
Troy as Mickey Mouse, Zada the Ladybug, and Paisley the Fairy
Troy, of course, wanted to be Mickey Mouse. I picked up Zada's costume at Other Mothers in Boise. Don't let the smiles fool you, she hated it when I put it on her. Maybe she just hated all the layers I put under her costume.

Yes, that is snow on the ground. I'm glad thats all we got.

A day at the park

We had some nice weather last Sunday so after church we decided to walk to the park. The kids had a great time playing with their Daddy and we all enjoyed being outside. Winter will come too soon!

This picture is my favorite. She's even looking at me.

All about Zada

children
Zada is a little sweetheart, with an opinion. I can already tell she has a little attitude. I'm afraid her tantrums will be much worse when she's two. She already trys to play Ted and I against each other. Seriously. When I get after her, (for example for throwing food at the dinner table) before she starts crying, she looks over at Ted. As if to say, 'Do you see how mean she is?' Then she looks back at me and wails. We still love her. We are just afraid of her growing up!

Zada loves to pester and take down her older brother. Good thing he is such a nice guy and doesn't REALLY fight back. When Ted and Troy are wrestling, she gets right in there with them. She loves her stuffed animals. And in the evenings after her bath she heads to the bookshelf to do a little reading in the buff. She is a great eater and there are very few things she won't eat, among them baby food. She is officially on solids. Which is great until it comes to the diapers. . .

We went to the doctor this morning and Zada is 21lbs. 4 oz (55th percentile). She is 29 1/2 inches tall (65th percentile). She did really well for getting 5 shots! So sad! But she is happily eating some crackers at the moment. She has four teeth, and is not just walking, but running now. She likes to climb up on things, and is a little dancer when we get a beat going. She recognizes the words, Dada, Troy, and shoes. She won't leave on headbands anymore, so I have to do her hair in the morning. Hence, she gets pony tails a lot. She is our beautiful baby Zada and we love her so much!

Zada's Birthday

Zada Mae-Mae is one today. I know every mother says it, but it's true-I can't believe she's one already! It's crazy to think that a year ago I was having contractions during stake conference, and wasn't very good company at the Hincheys for dinner.

Since her birthday landed on a Monday we celebrated last Saturday. We had lots of family travel 2+ hours to be here for it, and we're so glad they all came! Zada made out with some great presents. She got some cute clothes, toys, balloons, and a little money. She was a little unsure about everything, but the birthday cake. Enjoy the pics.

Uncle Trevor and Troy were the entertainment with thier balloon fights.

Just interested in the ribbon and bows.
She had no idea what to do with the candle. We should have practiced :) We had two go arounds.
I am pretty sure the cake was her favorite part.
